Up Coming Events for 2012

Jan. - 10 Year Fundraiser GalaSchedule for January 21st. This will be our kick-off event for our year long celebration of ten years of service to this community. As with most of the 2012 events, the details are still in the planning stage however this promises to be a exciting kick off for this anniversary year.

Feb, - Black Film Festival – The Chamber and Foundation is planning a Black Film Festival to be held the second weekend in February and hosted by California State University – Bakersfield (CSUB). The project will be facilitated by Mr. Nathaniel Dove a world traveler and founder of the Bakersfield Blues Society. Mr. Dove has first hand experience with a lot of the material to be presented and will also invited others to participate in the informative program for Black artist in the Entertainment Industry.

Mar. - Fundraiser Dinner Events – The Chamber is planning a series of quarterly dinner events featuring a local catering business and a professional musical presentation, ie jazz, blues, gospel or something of the sort, for the pleasure of the guest. These will be limit seating events with an upscale flavor, put together especially to help raise funds during this ten year celebration. Look for the first one to take place in March 2012.

Plans are still early and detail are being worked out, but there is a lot of interest and excitement for this event.

Aug. - Annual Ron Brown Economic Summit – In 2011 KCBCC had a good level of participation at the annual summit, taking two vans of students and adult chaperones. The students had a great learning experience and came back with some first place prizes for their participation in the Business Plan Competition.  We are looking to take more students and local business owners to the 2012 Summit in San Diego.

Sep. - Annual Wine Tasting – This event will show case local and regional wineries to provide an opportunity for trying new wine selections.

Dec. - Annual Membership Appreciation – This event is set aside to show our Membership how much we appreciate their continued support and to celebrate the coming holiday season.
